After a short wait, we rode the Santa Justa Elevator to the top. The viewing area is fenced, which make pictures hard to take. The views are terrific, you could even see Castelo de S. Jorge.

Even the roads are tiled.

That's the Tagus River.

At the top was a place selling Pastel De Bacalhau, which is a must try when in Portugal. It's made from dried fish and shaped like little footballs, stuffed with cheese. I was not a fan. Very strong fish flavor.
As we started walking away from the elevator, we saw the Carmo Convent. The roof is gone but it's still impressive.

This gentleman was playing music and it was so peaceful. The boys danced.

We continued walking around heading toward the Hard Rock Cafe. In the middle of the city, the restaurants, the bars, and people all around this picture just made me laugh. While it's so new and interesting to me, people live here. I wonder if they realize how beautiful it is.
I needed a drink to get the fish taste out of my mouth. So, as we were heading to get one, we walked onto this street. Notice how high we are off the street? That's a lot of stairs to get down there.

Pasteis de nata. It's what Lisbon is known for, besides tiles. It's a creamy custard filling baked in a pastry cup. Places have their own spin based on what you top it with, like cinnamon or powdered sugar. We tried the cinnamon.

These are just delicious!
Almost to the Hard Rock, we saw this building. How cool are those doors? Nothing is plain here.

Even the Hard Rock Cafe has an ornate exterior.
We spent some time admiring this fountain and others along the way. There are so many details to take in.

There were so many people out and about. Friendly people. I never once felt uneasy. I loved the tiled around this column.

After walking a long way, we could see the Arco de Rua Augusta. It was so pretty all lit up. This is the back side. The front faces the Parca do Comercio and Tagus River.
The front is below. So detailed and impressive.

Here we are walking up the street. The picture doesn't do the incline justice.

The Lisbon Cathedral. We didn't go inside but it was pretty.

We also saw the famous trams.

I was exhausted. Overnight on the plane, walking all over Lisbon and the excitement of seeing everyone. We took a bus home.
