Today was my last day in Spain. I am heading to the Algarve area of Portugal. I stopped at Baelo Claudia, a Roman city ruins, which was on the way.

They had a very nice museum, which I rushed through, since I had a long drive. But here's a picture of the second largest foot, I've ever seen.
There was a walkway to take to see the ruins of the Roman City. It was just me and a bus full of Asian tourists. Of course, it was raining again; the weather has not been my friend this weekend.

There were several ruins, since it was a city. This and the theater were my favorites.

This is the theater. There were stairs and lots of passageways.

Looking around the theater.
Every time I see something built hundreds or thousands of years ago, I am amazed. Makes me wonder how much of the stuff built in my lifetime will be around in 500 years.

It was a very pretty area, and I would have spent more time, but I was getting soaked.

I got back in the car and drove for about 4.5 hours. It was a gorgeous drive, and I was leaving the rain behind.

I passed into Portugal.

I decided to stop in Faro for lunch. I was curious to see it because I had been thinking about staying here.
The bridges are works of art in Portugal.
I found a cute place on the water to eat. It was a bit chilly but worth the views. There was a market nearby, so I walked through that. Then got back on the road.

I drove about an hour to Algar Seco. Please see Part 2.
