After driving about an hour, I arrived at Algar Seco, in Carvoeiro. This place is a gorgeous series of rock formations, caves, pools and tunnels. You can drive right to it. There is also a boardwalk along the ocean that seemed to go forever. Just the views from the parking area were impressive.

As you walk down the stairs, there are two paths you can take. I chose to go right (toward the restaurant) because I really wanted to go through the tunnel and see the cave windows. You walk by a restaurant and bathrooms. Down a couple more steps and there's this rock pool area.

Make a right turn and you enter the tunnel. I didn't get a picture of the tunnel entrance, but you can see it in the video. This is what the tunnel leads to. There's another window to the left of the picture also.

This is the view looking out of the window.

Then I went back up to the other path. There's a nice set of stairs and safe overlook area.

See the end of the railing? There's a path, skinny, little, path.

Here's that path. To the left is where the waves come crashing in and splash upward. You do not want to fall into that crevice. It was a little scary.

The video really shows the power and turbulence.

Here is the ocean boardwalk. You could walk for miles on this.

Here's the complete video.
I loved this place, but I needed to check in to my new room. So, I drove about 45 minutes into Lagos. Driving in these cities is a little intimidating. Sometimes I wasn't sure there was enough room to not scratch the car.
I did a short walk for groceries but could already tell I will love this place.
