Very early arrival into Ponta Delgada. I couldn't see too much but it is very pretty.

It's a very small airport but has everything you need. Coffee, bathroom, snack, ready for the next flight. I love when you have to walk on the tarmac. Even the smaller planes are huge.

Okay on my way to Lisbon.

I arrived in Lisbon and picked up the rental car. I drove to our Airbnb that Dorte, Davide and Nick. Driving was difficult because there was so much to see. Our place is near the monastery and Belem Tower. Right on a strip with all kinds of shops, restaurants and a park.

After some food, we decided to go into Lisbon and walk around. The tile work is amazing. I felt foolish walking around with my head turned up to look at them.

Not only are they intricate but they are everywhere.

We headed for the Santa Justa Elevator first. Lisbon is on a hill, so the elevator is helpful to avoid a ton of stairs and winding roads. It's a national monument and opened in 1902. It's ornate and moves a lot of people quickly. Plus, a Starbucks is right by it.

This view is looking away from the elevator.
