After my visit to the Chapel of Bones, I set out to find coffee and explore the town. It's such a pretty place. They were preparing for a race, so the fences were being set up.

I love just wandering around and seeing things. I find so many neat things that way.

Like this little cafe. The lady and I struggled to communicate but we get through it. I sat at a table and enjoyed a cappuccino and a magdalena (muffin).

I walked down this street.

Where I found this Roman House. I wasn't able to go in, but it was pretty cool to think of how long this house has been here. Although it could use some love.
Then I found a Roman Temple.

Which was near a viewpoint, Miradouro do Jardim Diana.

Here is what you could see from the viewpoint.
A little farther and I found an old Roman Gate. I love how these ancient buildings have been incorporated into today's world.

I ended up by Giraldo Square Fountain. I people watched and took pictures for families for a while.
This is the Royal Palace. It was surrounded by a public park with so many statues and flowers.

I would have loved to stay longer but I still had a 5-hour drive to go. Please see Part 4.
