Sandboarding - 6 Mar 2024 Part 2

We meet our tour guide in La Paz and drove out to the Mogote Dunes. It was about a half hour drive but so pretty.

We drove on the beach to a secluded spot with deceptively little looking sand dunes.

Our guide gave us a quick lesson and let us go. He even brought a speaker and let us pick the music!

This dune doesn't look so big, until you have to climb up! 2 seconds to the bottom and 20 minutes to the top.

We started on a little decline (on the right). Once we were comfortable, we moved up to the next level. There were 4 levels. The highest, hardest, fastest was to the left.

I did it! I thought it would be much faster. The easier levels were slow and easy to learn how to board.

To be honest, I am not a coordinated, graceful person. But I had fun.

I gave up going slow and went for the big run. I opted to sit. It was a little scary looking down that steep run.

Here I am on all 4 levels.

This was so much fun and great workout climbing up those hills. Jamie and I went double down the big hill and had quite the wipeout. It didn't hurt but was so funny we couldn't get up right away.

A word of warning, you get a little sandy though.

Then we had a great drive back and even got to stop and play in the water. What a gorgeous area!

We went back to La Paz and had lunch. Then drove to Playa El Coromuel, which is in the next part. Here is our route so far.
