Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, Thailand - 7 July 2023 Part 4

We arrived at our next stop, Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. This was the third place I was the most interested in seeing. The second place was the Train Market, see Part 2 and number one, Erawan National Park, is coming up in Part 5.

We were greeted with fresh coconut milk and bananas. They have the tiniest bananas here. Aren't they cute? I found them to be not as sweet.

By the way, I do not like coconuts. Didn't like them decades ago in Hawaii but thought I'd give it another shot. Nope, only in Pina Coladas.

We boarded our boat, which is like a big canoe with a roof and motor.

Pop had ordered us boat noodles for lunch. They were delicious. We ate as we cruised around.

There are so many canals and people live here, as well as have the market. Almost every home in Thailand has a Spirit House or San Phra Phum in their yard. They are shrines to the protector spirit and can be any size and color.

These boats have the longest driveshaft, hence the name long tail boat.

As you cruise along, you can pull over and buy things from the vendors. Other boats cruise around and sell things or make food.

ree

You can buy just about anything here. Souvenirs, spices, art, food, clothing, etc. They even had snakes. I about jumped out of the boat, no joke.

Some areas it was open, no traffic. Others were very congested and busy.

It was rush hour. A little nerve wracking.

Overall, it was a great time. Very interesting and fun. Time to move on though.

Here is the route so far.
