Aruba - Conchi Natural Pool - 14 Jan 2024 Part 2

Updated: Feb 11, 2024

Our first stop was the Conchi Natural Pool. Wow, so pretty. Did I mention it's windy in Aruba? Helps keep you cool but no good hair days.

We parked at the top and then walked down a pathway, part stairs, part rock, part dirt to the pool. I love this place.

On the way down the path. I am rock challenged, broke my foot on rocks (flat ones) in Florida. So needless to say, I was being careful since I did not want to check out Aruba's ER.

Here's looking back up at the top. It wasn't a difficult hike, but I would caution anyone that has trouble walking to stay at the top.

There was a lot to explore. I saw several crabs in the rocks. I loved the waves crashing over the rocks. It would be easy to sit here and enjoy it for quite a while.

Aruba is very close to Venezuela. You can actually see the coast on a clear day. Many people want out of Venezuela, so they swim, surf, float over to Aruba. They land on this wild coast side that's all rocks. The military patrols the coast at night. Sadly, they recover more bodies than people. If caught alive they are sent back to Venezuela.

This is the natural pool. We had the chance to swim, but I opted not to since you had to climb over wet rocks to get in and out. Obviously, it's a popular place.

One of our group was brave enough to go in. Another fell on the rock next to me. I could just hear Josh (in my head) telling me no, just walk away.

It rarely rains in Aruba, hence the desert part. When it does it's usually in September. Well guess what?? It rained, yup we got soaked. It didn't dampen our fun though. (Get it?)

Okay on to the next stop. Here is a good example of the road we are traveling. The truck bottomed out going down. We had to sign a waiver for the trip, we all thought it was because of the swimming.

My advice is to wear a good bra. Not your bathing suit top.

It may sound like I am complaining about the road, but honestly it was my favorite part. We laughed so much it was well worth it. How can you not love this view? Please see Part 3 for the next stop.
