Arrival in Dominican Republic 26 Aug 2023

Josh and I flew from DTW (Detroit) to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic via BWI (Baltimore).

The views were so cool.

I am not sure what islands we flew over but there were several.

We landed, went through immigration and got our luggage without any issues. Other than Canada this was Josh's first time out of the US.

We were driven to our villa. We stayed at Beach Villas & Apartments Larimar. Since Josh follows a strict diet and I battle being fat, I didn't want to stay at an all-inclusive resort. Plus I am just cheap. Just in case you were wondering.

We arrived and checked into the villa. Josh and I have different opinions about the villa. I liked it, he not so much. I'll get into that later. Anyway, we had a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom villa with a kitchen and patio. The pool was right outside our room. The beach was a quick walk away.

I walked to the beach and found a little place where I had dinner. I people watched and even saw a pirate ship. Kind of a sad little pirate ship.

Our villa only has A/C in the bedrooms, it's 90 degrees and humid. No screens on the windows, which is common.

The water is not safe to drink, so we have water jugs to get water from.

These are the reasons Josh wasn't thrilled about the villa. Maybe it will grow on him.
